History

Born from the passion of the Sullivan sisters who wanted to share their love of performing arts, D&B has continued to grow into a place of opportunity for every child who wants to sing, dance or act.

From humble beginnings in a community hall to highly acclaimed credits in TV, Film and West End Theatre, D&B has retained a sense of fun and excitement. This honest, proactive approach to performing arts continues to this day.

Our journey so far

D&B Theatre school was founded with classes in drama, singing and dance at a community hall in Eltham, South East London with 20 pupils.

Due to the popularity of classes in Eltham, more locations were started in Bromley, Orpington, New Eltham and our hugely popular Saturday combination schools started in the Charlton Meridian.

We held our first Theatre School Variety Show at the Bob Hope Theatre, Eltham.

Having started to secure professional work for children in the performing arts, D&B Management acting agency was born. Credits included Les Miserables, Oliver and regulars in Grange Hill.

The new millennium saw the launch of D&B School of Performing Arts, the full time college, with beautiful purpose-built studios on Bromley Road.

Following rigorous inspections, our studios were awarded exam centre status from both the ISTD and the London College of Music to hold examinations on our premises.

D&B Management had huge success with regular leads in EastEnders, Dr Zhivago and all over the West End.

Our own Marvin Humes made his first appearance as part of JLS on the X-Factor. On the big screen, Rob Knox was cast in Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.

D&B children began to take over the West End, appearing in Billy Elliot, Mary Poppins, Daddy Cool on an International Tour,Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Les Miserables and The Lion King.

This year saw the biggest physical change since we moved into the studios, with lots of new space and extra classes added.

We were over the moon to see Jacqueline Jossa collect her ‘Best Actress’ award at the National Television Awards for her role as Lauren Branning in EastEnders. D&B Management has continued to build on incredible credits including Matilda, Dirty Dancing, The Dumping Ground and many more.
