A Proven Track Record

Our graduate destinations are outstanding, and with our incredible industry links, our graduates can be seen in featured roles on stage and screen across the globe.

A Showcase for All

All of our students are given the opportunity to perform in the showcase- there is no double or triple casting. Our students are all in the spotlight!

Join the Family

Our students are known by name, not number, right from their very first audition. Every student is important to us and all of our staff.

Fulfil Your Potential

We strongly believe that professional on-set and stage experience is a huge benefit to our students and gives them a competitive edge to their training. We will actively look for opportunities for our students whilst they train.

Accessible to All

Our fees are hugely competitive, and we believe in keeping them that way so that our students are not saddled with debt when they graduate. Adding to that, we welcome every student to audition for our generous scholarships and bursaries.

The Accredited Diploma Course

The three year D&B Diploma in Musical Theatre is the perfect start for all budding performers, providing a strong grounding in practical technique and performance skills.

Accredited by the Council for Dance Education and Training (CDET), our three year course is balanced equally between singing, dancing and acting. Our goal is to develop our students to be triple threats, equally as confident to tackle lead roles in TV, Film and Theatre or being a strong team player in an ensemble.

Although the Diploma in Musical Theatre is mainly practical, there are contextual projects set throughout the training. The aim is to build on students’ general musical theatre knowledge.

At the end of every year, all students are involved in a West End showcase for an invited audience of leading industry professionals – including casting directors and agents.

  • Year One

The basis of the first year of the Diploma in Musical Theatre is to develop and consolidate a technical grounding across all faculties – singing, dance and acting. We also focus on building a solid understanding of the basic principles and levels of commitment and work required for not only the course, but subsequent professional careers.

Throughout the first year, students study anatomy and are given the opportunity to take an examination in teaching Zumba. This gives D&B students a solid understanding of anatomy and physiology, whilst gaining a valuable working tool to use alongside training or upon graduation. Pastoral emphasis is placed on settling in and adjusting to the rigours of intense vocational training.

Time is spent with individual students to ensure that each graduate is equipped with the tools and skills needed, and a thorough understanding of what is expected on graduation.

    Further details

Throughout the year students are sent to auditions and castings to apply their training to real life situations. They are given the opportunity to evaluate their experiences with their tutors afterwards.

Often these castings take place at our own studios – with visiting casting directors and agents. We provide one-on-one tuition and guidance for students who have been invited in for major auditions.

In the final term all students work towards a graduation showcase. Great care is taken to ensure that all students are given adequate material to showcase themselves to visiting casting directors and agents. Meetings are held with the graduates to talk through potential agent interest, where more guidance and support is offered.
