All students must register with their own general medical practitioner near to their place of London residence for the treatment of everyday health problems. We provide training in regards to injury prevention and employ dedicated and caring staff. We hold a weekly injury triage with our anatomy specialist Stephanie De'Ath (MSc in Dance Science) who advises students on exercises to aid recovery as well as devising a treatment plan with external physiotherapists, doctors and osteopaths if required.
We are extremely proud to be offering a pioneering healthcare plan for our students in conjunction with OneDanceUK which allows them to seek private physiotherapy treatment as well as osteophathy, mental health practitioners and a wide range of dance specific care. This healthcare plan is at a heavily subsidised rate and we are so pleased to be able to offer this to our students and staff.
There is a specialist NHS physiotherapist service specifically for dancers and we can give the students details of this clinic should they wish to attend. Students would need to ask their GP for a referral and this service is free on the NHS. Sometimes there can be a wait for services like this on the NHS, so students are strongly advised to take out private medical insurance to speed up treatment should they find they need it.
We also have a qualified sports injury masseuse on the faculty who can offer heavily discounted sports massage here at the studios on an appointment basis.
Students and parents are reminded that the fees for all specialist treatments are their responsibility.
