All things EastEnders

All things EastEnders

With just one week to go till the 2019 Soap Awards, we’re talking all things EastEnders! Our graduate Zack Morris is up for Best Actor for his portrayal of the troubled ‘Keegan Baker’. Following a harrowing knife crime storyline this year, Zack’s performance has caught the eye of critics and awarding bodies. Of course, his acting skills come as no surprise to us here at D&B.

Zack has been a member of the D&B family for many years, having started his journey with us as part of D&B Management. At a young age he racked up credits in theatre and television in prestigious productions such as ‘Cat on the Hot Tin Roof’, ‘Oliver’, ‘One Night’ and numerous TV commercials. In 2015 he was awarded the Marvin Humes Scholarship to study at our full time college and worked his way through 3 years of intense training in Singing, Dancing, and of course, acting. But all those other skills have come in handy as only this year, our showcase director Matt Flint had the pleasure of choreographing Zack in the Children In Need EastEnders special along with a group of dancers, singers and actors also from D&B. Having worked with Zack before, Matt was able to really showcase his dance skills within the piece. (See Zack! We knew those early morning Ballet lessons would come in handy!)

Whilst promoting EastEnders only this week on ITV’s ‘This Morning’, Zack bumped into his mentor Marvin Humes on set. Marvin has such a wonderful relationship with Zack and has been a wonderful support to him throughout his training and beyond. Sometimes they even match outfits!

This week also saw a continuation of a big storyline for another of our D&B alumni and clients, Tilly Keeper. Tilly, who plays Louise Mitchell, has been involved in a huge storyline recently and we’ve been clinging to the edge of our seats as she was kidnapped and is now facing a pregnancy bombshell. Tilly is a true D&B baby, having joined the theatre school over 10 years ago. Attending our hugely popular Saturday school, Tilly took classes in singing, dancing and acting before landing the role of a lifetime in the smash hit soap.

Zack and Tilly are also making headlines together, with this youtube clip racking up over 2.3 million views- the 5th most viewed clip of Eastenders on youtube!

We are so proud of our D&B alumni making waves on the square and are looking forward to some appearances on screen for some more of our clients which are due to air in the next few months. As always, we are super proud.
